Frequently asked questions
How long until I have my site?
We aim for a 3-day turnaround for a basic business card. More complex solutions may take a few weeks.. Previous clients have found that they prefer to take things more slowly and mull over design options, and feedback from friends. (In this case we would place a simple business card on your web space whilst we finalise the site). We would initially invoice for the business card and then subsequently deduct that total from your final invoice.
Speeding the process up?
The most important element to decide on is the look and feel. If you have suitable logos/images that you are already using for your business then it can sometimes help. Having an idea of which market you are targetting will also help to clarify many of the designs decisions required.
What about search engines?
The text (or copy) is the main area that has a significant effect on how search engines will rank your site. We can offer guidance on what is most suitable and submit your web site to search engines on your behalf. The majority of search engines take into account several factors, such as; frequency of visits from "new" users, the search terms people use to find your site along with quality sites linked to yours.
What is web hosting?
Web hosting is the process of putting your website onto a computer which is connected to the Worldwide Web (internet). Larger companies can buy their own machines, whilst smaller companies tend to buy 'space' on shared machines.
What is bandwidth ?
Bandwidth is the total amount of information that a site transmits/receives when people visit a website during a month. So, the more people that look at your site the more bandwidth it uses up. Hosts vary the amount they charge for your bandwidth, if you are lucky enough to have sufficient visitors to exceed the bandwidth allocated by most hosting companies then the return on your investment will normally easily cover any increase in charges levied by your hosting company.
